The Barre des Écrins, France’s second-highest mountain peak after the Mont Blanc. One of the French Alps and Hautes-Alpes’ best-known races involves scaling it!
La Vallouise: here in the region’s highlands is where you’ll find the sweet, authentic little villages that make up the Vallouise area: Vallouise-Pelvoux and Les Vigneaux.
Parc National des Ecrins: widely considered to be Europe’s ultimate mountain-top park. The valleys here form a series of highly individual landscapes and patchworks of different cultures: Oisans, Valbonnais, Briançonnais, Vallouise, Embrunais, Champsaur and Valgaudemar.
